The Verdict
Texas took the Red River Rivalry 23-6, and the scoreboard looks cleaner than the football was. The offense moved the ball well enough — a 0.14 EPA/play (EPA measures value added per snap above a neutral baseline) that trends upward — but a 37% success rate, worse than 90% of FBS teams, means too many drives stalled before they started. The defense held Oklahoma to six points, yet the play-level grades say this wasn't a lockdown performance. A rivalry win is a rivalry win, and Texas covered. But that success rate needs to climb before a tougher test arrives.
